Pros:
The Masterbuilt Vertical Gas Smoker benefits from a vertical design which gives the unit a much smaller footprint than horizontal style smokers as well as keeping the temperature more uniform for consistent cooking results.
Assembling this smoker is a doddle so anyone taking their first foray into the world of outdoor cooking need not find it intimidating. Set aside about 30-40 minutes for assembly. The instructions explain each step of the assembly process well and each of the parts comes well packaged for easy identification.
Upon opening the upper door of the unit, there are 4 chrome smoking racks which are adjustable per your preference. There is a huge cooking space of 717 sq inches to give you lots of room for cooking plenty of food in one go. Any home cook will find this space more than adequate.
The large locking door features a cool-touch wire handle to ensure safe opening and closing of the door without the need of gloves. Its 2 door design allows you to access the chip tray and water pan without affecting the temperature.

The water pan is rather small so it has to be refilled usually twice during a smoke session. Fortunately, the 2 door design makes this task much easier.
The design of the chip pan isn’t good so we advise that you get an 8 inch cast iron skillet for the chips.
