Product Review: ZODI Outback Gear Extreme SC Hot Shower
Company: Amazon
Price Range: $150 - $200
Who Would Buy This: Those shopping for a portable hot water shower for outdoor use. This is ideal for camping, hunting or to use in rural locations where you have no access to hot water.
Pros:
The Zodi Extreme is built with rugged materials to give it the durability to withstand the elements in almost any outdoor location from the backyard to the backcountry. The 3 gallon stainless steel water tank is fully rust resistant so when it pours the units exterior won’t be affected.
Using the Extreme SC for your daily showers is both quick and easy. Just fill up the water tank then place it on the stove. Next, ignite the propane tank by turning the valve. The system will then use the 10,000 BTU burner to heat your water to 100 degrees F in just 5 minutes then will indicate when the water has heated on the temperature strip so you can insert the hand pump to pressurize the tank, giving it about 20-30 pumps before finally turning on the water pressure.
The 6 foot shower hose includes a showerhead with on/off control valve to give you a complete shower experience outdoors.
With its 1-piece hand pump, the water flow is pressurized without the need of requiring batteries, making this shower system cost efficient to operate.
Campers rejoice. The 10,000 BTU burner can also be used as a cooking stove thus saving you the hassle of lugging an extra piece of equipment around on your camping adventures.
The Extreme SC can be collapsed down to a small size for easy storage. The included gear storage bag provides a good way to cover the unit and transport it easily.
Cons:
At only 6 ft long, the hose is a bit too short for some people’s liking.
Packing the unit into the storage bag can be quite a challenge since the bag is small.
Guarantee: 1-year warranty.
Summary
The idea of a hot shower on the go is a great one. The ZODI Outback Gear Extreme SC Hot Shower fills this need very nicely. Its super durable, well engineered, cost efficient and easy to use.
Any avid campers would do well to add this to their list of essential camping gear.
